I can buy a bottle of sleeping pills, chuck myself off a bridge and even run out in front of a train, so why would I need an intensely annoying alarm to warn me of the dangers of not using a seat belt every time I get into my car? To be honest, I think the warning sounds in a modern car are far more distracting than simply not having them, especially as my first task upon boarding is to tune into a decent radio programme.
1. Turn on the ignition but without starting the car
2. Wait 20 seconds
3. Unbuckle and buckle the seat belt repeatedly until the seat belt warning light comes on
4. Turn off the ignition
