Ok, to be honest, I have been using the Windows 10 Assistive Technologies upgrade for my customers on the quiet to give everyone a free upgrade to Windows 10 from 7 or 8. Like most techies we’ve known about it for 2 years and Microsoft have been very quiet on the subject, in fact they’ve been encouraging it.

But as from 31st December 2017, less than 2 weeks away, this avenue will be closed off. Just google it from the target machine running a legit copy of Windows 7 or 8 and download the file, run it and sit back while it installs, provided you pass the compatibility checks. It’s a good idea to switch off any anti-virus or weird stuff running in the background first. You can reverse the upgrade for 10 days.
