1Â Restart the computer by clicking the Windows Start button, clicking the arrow to the right of â€œShut Downâ€ and clicking â€œRestart.â€
2Â Press the â€œF8â€ key repeatedly as the computer boots until the boot menu appears on the screen.
3Â Select â€œSafe Modeâ€ in the boot menu using the arrow keys and press â€œEnter.â€ If youâ€™re asked to select an operating system, select the Windows 7 system and press â€œEnter.â€
4Â Click the Start button when the desktop appears, type â€œC:\Windows\System32\Spool\â€ into the text field that appears and and press â€œEnter.â€
5Â Right-click the â€œPrintersâ€ folder in the Spool folder and click â€œDeleteâ€ to delete it.
6Â Double-click the â€œDriversâ€ folder in the Spool folder, then right-click the â€œW32x86â€ folder in the Drivers folder and click â€œDeleteâ€ to delete it.
7Â Click the Start button, type “Regedit” into the search field and press â€œEnter.â€
8Â Navigate to the â€œHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86â€ key in the left pane of the Registry Editor.
9Â Examine the subkeys under the â€œWindows NT x86â€ key in the left pane. If you see any subkeys other than the â€œDriversâ€ and â€œPrint Processors,â€ right-click the â€œWindows NT x86â€ key, click â€œExportâ€ and save the contents of the key to a file, then delete the other subkeys by right-clicking them and clicking â€œDeleteâ€ for each.
10Â Navigate to the â€œHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitorsâ€ key in the left pane of the Registry Editor.
11Â Examine the subkeys under the â€œMonitorsâ€ key in the left pane. If you see any subkeys other than the â€œBJ Language Monitor,â€ â€œLocal Port,â€ â€œPJL Language Monitor,â€ â€œStandard TCP/IP Portâ€ and â€œUSB Monitorâ€ keys, right-click the â€œMonitorsâ€ key, click â€œExportâ€ and save the contents of the key to a file, then delete the other subkeys by right-clicking them and clicking â€œDeleteâ€ for each.
12Â Unplug the printer if itâ€™s connected to the computer. Restart the computer.
13Â Reconnect the printer after the computer finishes restarting and install it normally.
